Paper Trading Before Live
Paper trading is the recommended first step for learning how Bismel1 behaves with a connected account. It helps you review the workflow without using a real-money live environment.
1. Why paper first
Paper trading lets you test product setup, broker connection, symbols, Orders, Positions, Activity, and Performance Metrics before using live trading.
2. What to test
- Can you select the correct account?
- Do symbols appear in the right product/account?
- Does automation status make sense?
- Do Orders, Positions, and Activity update after app cycles?
- Can you explain why symbols skipped or acted?
3. Do not rush live
Moving to live trading should happen only after you understand account selection, symbol management, order states, activity rows, and performance review. A short successful paper period does not guarantee live success.
4. Paper and live can differ
Paper uses a simulated broker environment. Live uses a real broker environment. Market fills, available liquidity, buying power, and broker rules may behave differently.
5. Before switching live
Review buying power, symbols, automation state, product account, risk preference, and recent paper results. If anything is unclear, stay in paper and keep testing.
